Solution
If you were previously using the scanner on an older OS, you'll need to install Windows 10 driver package from Canon's website:

https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/scanners/lide_series/canoscan_lide_110.aspx?type=drivers&language=EN&os=Windows%2010%20(64-bit)

Be sure to select either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 10 as appropriate.
