Is it possible to use my tv as a monitor I seen people do it but I’m unsure about it but I don’t have the money to put into a large desk and monitor so I’m just wondering

Just be sure that it is not going to be too big.

If you are going to sit it on your desk then you probably don't want it bigger than 30inch, which is too small to be an effective TV.

You also need to look at the resolution, at 30inch and beyond you should look for 4K resolution. FHD 1920x1080 non interlaced is the absolute minimum.

As others have said, modern TVs are usually fine; however the older they are, the more problematic it can be, and you have to be careful to set the PC gfx output to a level the TV can handle.

If your TV is more than 8 years old, it probably isnt worth it, it wont display at a usable resolution or refresh rate. Have a good read of the user manual first.
