I have recently built a computer. For a GPU it has a Radeon RX 580 with 2 HMDI, 2 DP and DVI port. Mobo also has a built in HDMI port.
When I plug in my new Benq XL2411P monitor, using any method (Mobo HDMI, RX 580 HDMI or RX 580 Display Port) I only get sound out of the headphone jack on the monitor (I do get sound from the system headphone jack also).
If I use my old monitor (HDMI) and plug it into the Mobo HDMI or RX 580 HDMI, I obtain sound from it's speakers.
So I know the cables are good, the ports are good on the computer, but the built in speakers are very silent.
