i just bought zotac gtx 1050 ti, and im using old samsung lcd monitor so im using vga to hdmi cable. After installing the gpu, my resollution looks like shit so i change it to HD resoluton via nvidia control panel and it works perfectly.
my question, can my new gpu get damaged by changing the resolution since my monitor doesnt support HD res?
sorry for bad english and newbie question. Thanks

edit:
my monitor is samsung B1930N with 1366x768 resolution @60hz refresh rate

Solution
No damage... If it works perfectly then it won't be an issue... It's the gpu's job to provide video that's it
U are not damaging your monitor or your graphics card enjoy
