I have to RMA this board and I put the box in a "safe" place and now, of course, I can't find it.

Socket type: AMD AM4 Socket for AMD Ryzen / 7th Generation A-series/Athlon Processors

I'm going to call them and ask if I can substitute anything else, but thought I might check here in the meantime.

Solution
i would say don't worry too much about the amd cpu socket, it's a pga package, unlike intel which has the pin in the cpus socket. pga sockets are more fault resistant.

They thought I had an Intel motherboard so they said a cover was required, but when correcting that mistake Asus just said it's fine to ship as is. Thanks!
