I have a wall mounted Samsung TV that I've used to play some of my games on whilst lying in bed. That is, Until recently.

I have 2 monitors i use while sitting at my desk, and the only way to get my computer to output display is to disconnect my second monitor, and use that HDMI cord to plug into my TV. I can't just leave it plugged into the TV when I boot up my computer, because it won't detect it. When disconnecting from my second monitor and then plugging into the TV with the same cord, it shows in my displays that the TV is my monitor (instead of reading Samsung TV blah blah blah, it reads VH____) Also, i cannot get HDMI Audio to go through my TV. I have updated drivers/bios, changed cords, even tried a different TV, and nothing has worked. Please end my suffering.

System specs:

MSI Gaming Pro Carbon Z170A
6700K
EVGA GTX 1070
lotsa RAID memory

Also, If my second monitor isn't connected when I boot up my PC, it won't be detected when I do plug it in. Will only show a display if it is plugged in when i turn on the PC.

In Windows Display, select the your main monitor as the primary. Then identify the other two monitors. Then select Duplicate monitor.

After that go to Display Properties and set the refresh rates and resolution.

Or you can purchase an HDMI and just switch back and fourth.

I've used every port that i can except for the VGA port. None of them help. None of the settings have changed since i set them up in November when i finished building this PC. Same resolutions (1920x1080, 60hz) which have worked on my TV up until last month. Its not a "oh plug it in correctly" or "click detect/identify" problem I've plugged, unplugged, detected and identified so many times I feel like a Sherlock Holms Porn star.

and before you say anything about rolling back to a previous driver, i've rolled back to many driver iterations, and its still doing it. even to the driver that came out when I built my PC.

As for the sound, I would guess that you have the sound going to computer speakers. You can use the digital audio for your graphics card and disable the computer speakers. Then you would get audio to your monitor speakers. You may also have the audio to the monitor disabled.

As for the monitor problem, the only thing I can suggest is to do a fresh install of widows with all of the monitors and your TV connected.

That part of Windows has remained pretty much the same. Try downloading and installing the latest graphics driver version (actually there as a problem with a recent driver - I'm using 391.24) from geoforce.com. Don't use the Windows driver (they are crap especially for multiple monitors).

Windows 10 periodically updates device drivers. It has screwed up my graphics driver a half dozen times. All you can do is to pause the updates. But to correct the problem, just do aupdate from the manufacturer website.
