Monitors turns black when changing to 144hz

So I've had to run my monitors on 60hz because whenever I change them to 144hz they turn black and stay that way until I change them back to 60hz (I check one at a time). Would appreciate feedback a lot!
Keep in mind; all my drivers are newly installed.
