After swapping to an Ultrawide monitor games run awfully.

Today I finally installed my LG34UC79G, replacing my dual monitor setup of 2 HP 2011x monitors.
When I try to boot up games* that I can usually run at 60+ frames on Ultra settings, I'm getting sub 25. Someone please help!
*games played were Far Cry 5 and Grand Theft Auto 5
Specs:
MSI GTX 1070 GAMING X 8GB
Intel i7 7700k @ 4.8 ghz
16GB DDR4 @ 2666GHZ
EVGA SuperNova 850MW
Windows 8.1

Well you did go from 1600x900 to 2560x1080, double the number of pixels the GPU needs to render...

Somethings definitely off there. Gtx 1070 should easily drive that resolution above 60fps as I can get near 100fps in BF1 at 1440/high.

Tried clean install of gpu driver?

That's what I was thinking too but I wasn't sure since I don't play those games.
