Installed ssd now hdd is insanely slow and stuck on 50% disk usage

I installed an ssd to my pc but right when I plugged it in it slowed down my hdd incredibly to the point where it takes 5-10 minutes to open and application it took me 1 hour just to open disk management and initialize the ssd. In task manager it shows that the disk usage is 50% but when I open the performance tab the disk is shown at 100% usage. The ssd I bought was a SanDisk plus 240gb

what are specs of PC? Have you updated BIOS recently? Might be motherboard drivers as well

Could try another SATA cable or attach SSD to another port on motherboard

Does it go back to normal speed if you unplug ssd again?

Thank you for responding I let the computer stay on last night as I slept when I woke up today my disk suddenly fixed Idk why but it’s amazing
