Hello! I'm planning on building a new desktop this week.

My budget isn't too tight. I don't mind spending the extra buck if I really feel I'm getting value for it, so that's why I ended up with a build of $1200. If not really necessary I'd like to not exceed it. I'm aiming for a mid to high range setup.

I'll be using it for gaming, lots of browsing and running some apps for my job (social media marketing). The apps are mid range in regard to processing power needed. But the apps will be running in the background while I do other stuff in the meantime.

Not really planning on overclocking, nor am I really interested in Crossfire (I know I've ended up supporting it by chance...). I don't particularly care about lighting, or even noise. Prices are from newegg for common reference. I'm buying locally and in euro. So here goes:

CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 2600X – $220
MOBO – Gigabyte X470 aorus ultra gaming – $140
RAM – G.Skill RipjawsV 16GB DDR4-3200MHz (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB) – $180
HDD – Seagate Barracuda 2 TB – $60
SSD – Samsung 860 Evo 250GB – $80
PSU – Corsair RM550x Full Modular 80 Plus Gold – $100
GPU – Gigabyte GeForce GTX1060 6GB (GV-N1060WF2OC-6GD) – $300
Case – Phanteks Enthoo Pro M Tempered Glass – $100

Looks like a solid build. Personally, I'd go with a larger SSD. In my opinion. If you can afford it an SSD should be used for the OS and all apps including games. Hard drives should be used only for file storage. Load times are dramatically shorter on SSD for games.

I was planning on saving and playing games on the other hard drive. It makes that big of a difference huh?
