Monitor not getting signal

I was upgrading my mom's motherboard, processor, and ram. When I turn it on all the fans come on but the display says no signal. I am using on board graphics (VGA) and have tried different cables and monitors but nothing works. Any ideas?

Ram: 4gb geil pristine edge at 2133MHz

Thanks so much. I am new to building computers and didn't think to check that. Do you have a recommendation for a processor that would work in the same price range.
