Hi Guys,

I'm currently overclocking a PC for the first time! So far so good, nothings blown up yet so these youtube tutorials are working!

However, I read in an online forum the turning on "XMP profile" will boost my performance also on my PC? Basically I stream games and play, so will this be something that will help my performance here? Is there any drawback to having this enabled?

My specs are below:

GPU: Nvidia 1080ti 11GB
CPU: i7-8700k
RAM: 16GB 3200mhz
Cooler: Corsair H100i V2 Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Motherboard: ASUS® ROG STRIX Z370-H GAMING: ATX, LGA1151, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs

If you don't use XMP or overclock your memory, it will run at the default 2667MHz. If it's stable, there's no downside except a very small power increase. Some programs are memory sensitive and your performance will increase with faster speeds and better timings. Other times there won't be much of a difference. I would look for some memory reviews here to get a better idea.
