Plug Dvi into motherboard or graphics card?

So I finished up my pc build and then started to set up my monitor, and I saw that the motherboard has a dvi port too. Which one do I use and why are 2?
(I am using a 1060 3gb)

CPUs can have integrated graphics depending on the CPU model which the video port on the motherboard passes video from.

Integrated graphics have improved over the years but still no comparison compared to decent graphics cards like your 1060.

If you've got a discrete GPU, you use that. Depending on what processor you're using, there's a chance that the DVI on the board might not even work. I can't say one way or another seeing you've made no mention of what you've built.

You should generally avoid using the motherboard graphics port, just plug it into the GPU.
