Hi, i have old 2 vga monitors and i wanted to plug both of them in my pc
i didn't know how to do it so i bought a VGA (F) to DVI-I (M) and plugged one it and it worked
for the second one i first tried using a passive VGA (F) to DVI - D (M) and it didn't work it looked like this: https://imgur.com/a/DIjm4X3
After reading online that this is a passive converter
I tried buying an active one that looks like this:

But still it doesn't work i noticed with the second one, when i plug it into DVI-I (even though it doesn't have 4 pins surrounding the big line looking pin it still works )
I also got a hdmi to vga converter from a friend that looks somewhat like this:

But that also didn't work maybe because it was old and from china i don't really know.

What is the best thing to do going from here?
Should i buy a displayport to vga ? i returned the hdmi converter to my friend but i still have the frist 2 with me, i don't know why both of them don't work
Also the monitors both work, the first and the second one when plugged into DVI-I work just fine

I have these 2 to plug my monitors into:
Motherboard - gigabyte 970a-ud3p
Graphics Card - Nvida GTX 950 2gb with DVI-I, DVI-D,hdmi,displaypot

the second one doesn't actually have a power cable
the third one did have a ac power adapter and i connected everything like it should be, but every time i plugged the hdmi cable into my computer, the light that indicates that the converter is on goes off, and when i pull out the hdmi cable it turns back on...

i've got an update
turns out the second cable dvi-d to vga kinda works, i turn on my pc and get the bios logo and all, after that windwos stats booting up i get to the windows loading screen where the dots go in a circle, after that is finished my monitor goes off again saying no signal, but when i go back to the dvi-i to vga adapter and put it in it works,my login screen is there and its a successful start up this is very strange, also this happens with both of my monitors, im thinking either the graphic card or the windows is a problem since i do see my monitor turn on for a bit with the dvi-d to vga(second cable)

update 2:
i was successful at turning on my pc and going to desktop using dvi-d to vga converter but only in safe mode, i think its the graphics card but i don't know how to fix it

I'd say the adapter doesn't like the resolution you are trying to push to that monitor. on boot and in safe mode windows uses a lower resolution. Or possibly a driver issue. I haven't seen good results with the non powered DVI-D to VGA adapters.

i actually fixed it and was able to run my desktop with the graphics card driver after reinstalling it, using the dvi-d port only, but every time i tried to connect the dvi-i port my dvi-d monitor would shut off and the dvi-i trun on, for some reason they don't want to work together,i tried chaning cables, also when i turn on my pc with botch adapters at the same time it just starts the dvi-i one and not both

should i consider trying displayport adapter with the dvi-i one?
is that gonna work?
