Weight reduction hacks

I have an old Asus laptop (u50vg) that weighs over 2.5kg. Other than replacing the drive to an SSD, has anyone got advice on how I might be able to make it lighter?

I am comfortable with dismantling it so any advice you might have would be appreciated.

But seriously, new technology make things lighter, ur not gonna make an old pig lighter with lipsticks.

SSD, rid of the optical, maybe the mini-PCI if it has one, that's all u can do
