My PC has been freezing (audio stops completely and desktop is still visible with no input from mouse or KB) at least once to twice a day for the past couple of months. I don't know what is causing it and task scheduler will not show any processes when I check for the last 24 hours. This problem could be caused by any number of reasons and I've tried several things to no avail. From Defragmenting my hard drive (Defraggler aborts the defrag process at 100%, if that info is helpful) to unplugging my PSU from my GPU and reconnecting, nothing has worked. Does anyone have an idea as to what I might be able to try to fix the issue?

My specs are
CPU: AMD FX-6300
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 6.0
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 SSC
RAM: 12 GB DDR3
PSU: Antec 400W
HDD: Seagate 1TB 7.2k RPM

When I look at the reliability monitor the only critical events I see that pertain to the freeze are "windows was not properly shut down". When I go to the event viewer, I see the expected Kernel-Power
errors, along with another error called Kernel-EventTracing that happens around each freeze and restart. When I look at the Kernel-EventTracing errors they are divided into two different event IDs. Event ID 2 and Event ID 28. For event ID 2 I see 18 events that read: "Session "dfa2c640-651d-488d-a479-2fd7a7ca6e29" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022" and for Event ID 28 I see 72 events that read: "Error setting traits on Provider {8444a4fb-d8d3-4f38-84f8-89960a1ef12f}. Error: 0xC0000001". Again, they all appear to happen around each freeze and restart.

12 GB DDR3

Memory manufacturers guarantee memory in the form sold. I would recommend using a (2 x 4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 kit. Memory settings in BIOS are:
1) Memory clock
2) DRAM timings
3) DRAM voltage

I have no idea what memory your using without a part number or link to it. Using memory that is not compatible with each other can cause freezing. Testing for defective memory can be done with MemTest86.
