Windows BSOD install

a compaq m460 laptop. install linux lite , no issues. will NOT allow win 10 [32 bit] install either USB or DVD get BSOD irq_not_equal;_or_less. unsure as to whats up. t

go into bios and check the bios date.
you need a bios date after 2012 to have a good chance for the system to work correctly.

otherwise, update the to most current bios version you can get. Then go into bios and turn off non standard devices. (the hardware standards change over the years, the drivers must match the standards that were in effect when the bios was written)
old machines with old bios might require old drivers that windows 10 would not have by default.

(go in bios and disable card readers or webcams. they are the most likely to cause problems)

turns out the bios "runs in windows" and its got linux.. lol catch 22 thanks all the same
