Picture 11 of 15: Image shows 1613 g (or 1.613 kg) and text says 1.6 pounds ... not consistent units.

Nice article. Does the Wraith Ripper have fans inside? Or is it a passive cooler? Also did you like the first Threadripper packaging? Or do you like this packaging better?

So looking forwards to this as a render slave. Not bothered about overclocking but certainly want to know if it can run flat out at stock speeds 24/7

Also need a motherboard that can take this 32core cpu and 3 or 4 x GTX 1080Ti's. Hybrid rendering with CPU+GPU is part of my render pipeline.

this thing is such a monster why put it into a MB at all?
just a watertight box you can plunk into the fridge and
a long flat data and power cable to run back to the case and
PS connectors.

Seems like maybe that would be the perfect sort of application for this chip.

why no tests in data processing (spark, dask), machine learning (lightGBM/zgboost training), deep learning (i know there are GPUs) just to get a seeling (there are pre-made benchmarks for tensorflow) ???

I'd like to see these benchmarks as well, since that's what these CPUs are made for. A couple of extra +/- FPS in GTA V? Been there, done that. I want to see what these CPUs are really capable of!
