Assist button not working

Assist button not working on my sony laptop after installing windows 10 from windows 8.
Any solutions ? Please help

Are you trying it when laptop is off?

The vaio assist button only works when your computer is shutdown not when running windows.

1. Shutdown your computer fully (not hibernate or sleep)

2. Press the the [assist] button only (do not press the power button)

Its possible you need to turn off Fast startup to get it to work - https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-turn-off-fast-startup-windows-10-a.html - as default off state for a Win 10 PC is hibernate.
