wi-fi location and ranging

i'm looking to learn wi-fi location and ranging techniques
im most interested in wi-fi RTT and RSSI measuring

This is one of those how much do you really want to learn. There are lots of wiki type things that will give you a basic understanding.

The concepts used in WiFi are all based on radio concepts that are decades old. To really learn this you need to have a very strong knowledge of the physic and other science that makes all this work. For example the amount of water vapor in the air has a direct impact on signals and it greatly depend on the frequencies of the radio transmissions. The math behind calculating this is not simple.

One of the most in demand college graduates has a degree in RF engineering. The cell phone companies and many others compete for these guys.

It is not something you are really going to learn in a couple week class.
