Stuck at 1080p on a 1440p monitor!

Just bought a 1440p monitor (aoc q2778vqe) as a second monitor for my setup. But the screen resolution is stuck at 1080x1920.
In the monitor menu it says 1080x1920, and it won't change even if I change it to 1440p in Windows 10 display settings.
I have tried using both HDMI and Display Port, but they both only end up with the 1080p resolution?
The monitor also has a Dual DVI-D port. I have not tried using it as i don't have a Dual DVI-cable right now and it seems silly using such an old interface?
I have updated all my drivers, restarted and switched cables several times with no result.
I would appreciate any help i could get.

I think you need a HDMI 1.4 or newer cable for 1440p. And yes, I believe you need dual link DVI-D to display 1440p.
