dvi to hdmi adapter has no 144 hz

whenever i enable past 60 hz my monitor tells me to use a dual link even though i am. i have a dual link dvi connected to my monitor which also connects to the adapter that goes into my laptop. I have researched and have seen that adapters dont support past 60 hz.
does anyone know of a male hdmi to female dvi that supports past 60 hz.

Can you please state the make and model of your display as well as the make and model/SKU of your laptop? I assume you're enabling the frequency within your GPU's control app...? You might want to look into HDMI cable altogether provided your display has HDMI input.
