Screen turns black and then returns after a few seconds

Hey guys, Having an issue at the moment where my screen randomly turns black and then returns to normal.

Windows 10
GTX1080
2 Displays using HDMI

Things I have tried:

Reinstalling Display Drivers
Checked HDMI Cables
Used Onboard Graphics Only
Booted in Safemode

maybe it goes to black when there's a predominantly black scene in a game or movie?

i saw that too, and it was windows installing an updated driver.... lol

does it keep happening? mine only did it once

yes been happening for a while now very frustrating

I had this when playing on LG monitor over HDMI, it sometimes turns off when the scene it's shoving is pitch black. Some sort of power saving feature.

But if it's really random, then it should be some driver issue, cables, or hardware failure.

If this is the case you need to set power saving features of monitor to something that means minimum saving, or turn saving off. Play with those settings.

It's called Super Energy Saving in LG monitors and it controls the amount of brightness according to white/black levels in the picture. So when the picture is black, monitor can turn off :/
