I am about to pull the trigger on TR2990WX for my home lab. But still unable to decide on which RAM to use. I am looking for 128 GB and following are the ones I am considering. Which one would you recommend. My use case is mostly virtualization( A decent amount of VMs which basically does file based indexing, 2-3 databases and web servers etc) .

1. F4-3200C14Q2-128GTZ - (14-14-14-34) - $1814

2. F4-3300C16Q2-128GTZ - (16-16-16-36) - $1500

3. F4-3200C16Q2-128GTZ - (16-18-18-38) - $1292

I don't have any deep knowledge in RAM timings and such. But from what I read, the CL14 version is best of the lot. But it is $520 more expensive compared to the CL16 . Will I get any significant performance difference in real world scenarios?

I would also like to know whether anybody used F4-3300C16Q2-128GTZ on a Ryzen. I am ready to go for it if it's close to 3200C14 in performance.

Finally, do all these modules use Samsung B-die ? Any idea? Asking because I would like to know what difference will it make if I feel like overclocking in future.

Thanks in advance.
