I detached a gpu from Mobo of old PC. What can I cover its empty space with ?

An expansion slot cover plate. You will need to determine whether you need a low profile or a full height cover plate.

local computer stores sell them...also see if your local store have a few spares then can give you. if not look for trashed pc and steal them.,
