I 've been having a lot of lag lately when I play games like Call Of Duty, CS:GO or even Fortnite and I can't stand it any longer...

This is my PC specs:

Power Supply: CORSAIR AX Series AX860 860W
OS: Windows 10 Home x64
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core
CPU Coler: Noctua NH-D14
RAM: Vengeance® Pro Series — 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 DRAM 2400MHz
Memory: Samsung SSD 120GB / Seagate Desktop HDD 1TB
Video Card 1: ASUS GeForce GTX 970 TURBO OC 4GB
Video Card 2: ASUS Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II OC

The CPU Coler, RAM memory sticks and GTX 970 is bought about 1,5 years ago and the rest about 4-5 years old

My budget is 1000$ but I would prefer spending as less as possible but still be able to play smoothly.

Thanks for your time :)

Grab yourself a new CPU, MOBO, and RAM. Something along the lines of an 8600k/8700k/R7-2700 and associated motherboard, depending on your system needs.
I would also take out the 290, its really not going to be doing much.

So if I where to buy:
Intel Core i5-8600K Coffee Lake CPU - 3,6 GHz - Intel LGA1151
ASUS ROG Strix Z370-H Gaming
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000MHz DDR4 SDRAM DIMM 288-pin

Would that be a reasonable upgrade?

Are you getting lag is in high ping rates or lag as in low frame rates? i have a fx8350 and r290 (running duel monitors off of just the one card) I get 90-120 fps in fortnite on high/ultra settings.....

yes i know its an outdated system and i plan to upgrade soon myself but if your having lag issues a new pc might not fix your issue. If your having low FPS then it is your system having issues. but if its just lag it could be your modem/router or such creating your lag. just something to think of if you dont have money just for building a new pc

I don't know what that would be...
I have fiber network with stable 100 down and 20 up.
Do you know any other things that can create lag?

ROG strix is overpriced IMO. If you want a good board with Wi-Fi.
