ELI5 100% Disk Usage

Hi, I’m sorry in advance as I know this topic has been posted about an awful lot and I’ve read a great number of the posts but I don’t understand a lot of the jargon.

My laptop is consistently very slow with 100% or near disk usage even when the processes in task manager only add up to maybe 2MB total.

I’ve tried a clean boot but that doesn’t help.

I’d really like it in simple terms if someone could explain to me what this actually means and the reasons this might happen. Is it possible I have a hardware problem with my hard drive?

If you ask my for my specs you’re gunna have to tell me what exactly you’re asking for and where I can find that information haha.

So basically your harddrive is running at max capacity that means it's going as fast as it can the onliest thing that can solve this is buying a better HDD or upgrade to an SSD.
