Will using Optane with DRAMless SSD give me performance similar to decent NVMe SSD?

Hi, I'm building a new intel system (370 chipset) and have a relatively new DRAM-less SSD that I'd like to use with it to save some cash (Sandisk SSD plus 480- the newer version). Will using, say, a 32gb optane in conjunction with this SSD theoretically mitigate the negatives of a DRAMless SSD as a system drive (i.e. speed, the constant small writing and ultimately short life expectancy)? I would expect it to perform nearly as well as a decent NVMe (obviously total cost is likely more, however)... but maybe I am not considering all aspects.
