Asus VS247N Refresh Rate Problem

I have an Asus VS247N monitor that i use to play games with but on some games like cs 1.6 and go like i play on lower resolutions ex 1024x768 but the refresh rate is the same as my desktop 60hz . So i need to change my desktop resolution to my ingame resolution to play at 75hz,
is there a way to keep my dektop resolution at 1080p and not having to change it at a lower res for ingame to play at 75hz ?
