Hey guys, so I am a bit new to all the overclocking world. I am putting together PC parts for my new ryzen build. As all the ryzen chips are unlocked and due to my budget and typical workload I have decided to get a ryzen 5 2600. I mostly play games, light video editing and occasionally streaming.

I really like this board Asus ROG B450-F motherboard:

Can I get a decent overclock of around 4.0-4.1GHz with this board, I dont care much about a +/-100MHz as long as it is 4GHz.

Also should I expect a similar performance from the MSI B450 Tomahawk:

It is $25 cheaper but will it also keep a 2600 at 4.0-4.1GHz stable?

And overall are these good boards for modest 24/7 overclock for a ryzen 2600?

Or should i go the route of a cheap X470 like:

OR

Any help is appreciated, and it would be really nice to get many responses to this since i am genuinely confused.

By the way, I plan to pair this with a GTX 1080/1080Ti or RTX 2070, whichever i find a better deal on. Plan to build this sometime in October.

Thanks!!

P.S I am sorry for the awfully long post.

cheaper b450 will do fine too, you don't have to get those expensive B450 MBs. I will get this: https://www.newegg.com/global/il/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157840&ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

2600 is fine with B450.

Is there a chance i might end up frying my VRAM with less heatsinks on this board if i do try to OC upwards of 4GHz?
Thanks btw!! :)

Every chip is unique, but VRM on that ASrock mb should do you good :)

Thanks! :)
Also is the $60 premium worth for getting 2600x or will the 2600 be able to catch up by OC?
