HD TUNE PRO ''I/O error! test aborted'' when i try to run the file benchmark

What brand Hard drive is it? Some, like Western Digital or Seagate have their own testing software for their drives, use it as a 2nd opinion scan

many similar searches come back saying you should back up any data on drive, it may be failing.

It's HD Tune's issue.
I've had the same error only on Windows 10 (never on Windows 7), on 4 different computers. Most of the time the error occur on very fast drives (normal HDD usually passes the test fine), but NVMe and Ramdisks 99% fail with that error. The 1% that passes are usually when testing right after reboot, but with 100% chance fail during immediate second run.
