Hey Everyone,

I am looking to add LED light strips to my motorcycle. I have found these, which are fine for what I want, and the switch:

Lights

Switch

The lights are 12v, which means I am good to hook it right up to the battery. What would be the best way of doing this? Basically have the 4 +/- wires coming from the lights, the switch to turn them on and off, and need to run the power off the battery. Would a simple fuse box be the best option, and what's the best way to wire the switch to cut power?

Thank you in advance!

Personally I'd always run it through a fuse just to be safe. Since the lights and switch can be exposed to the elements, never know what could happen and short it out. You can get a simple inline fuse likethis one for example.

If you trust yourself to remember to turn them off, then yea you can go directly to the battery. If you don't plan on ever having the lights on without the bike running, then I'd say connect it to something else. Tap into the headlight wiring so when the bike shuts off so will your leds.
