Licensed software help

I have a computer that has a licensed software on it and I have a external hard drive which has windows 10 on it I want to use the external hard as the drive but I'm worried about the licensed software the licensed software is design edge will I be fine ?

Have you tried to boot from the external hard drive? Does it work? How is the speed running your system from an external hard drive?

The physical location of the program is irrelevant but your plan does sound very odd.
