Really slow Windows 10

Can anyone help?
A 8-year-old Packard Bell that seems to run fine on the internet but has started (within the past few days) to be REALLY slow in loading any programmes - such as Word, GIMP, Photo editing software etc.

Windows 10 Desktop Dell Intel RCore I3 CPU 530 at 2.93GHzInstalled memory Ram 3.00GB2.7GB usableSystem Type 64BitX64 Base Processor

It takes 30 mins+ to shutdown with the spinning icon and also very slow booting up.

I have tried running Hard Disk Sentinel - can download it but no report gets generated.
Windows Updates are 'up to date'

We do have Bit Defender running...

shouldnt matter, its just skins and oldeer version, should work either way

let test the for hdd problems to start, you can get the test software from the manufacturer and test your HDD see what it says.

also you can go to Userbenchmarks.com and link to your results

wow, really under performing, makes me thing the mobo/ram is going bad, your cpu is great though!

can you make a memtest86 boot usb and test the ram?

i think it's the motherboard because your integrated graphics was nil 1%, so something is wrong here.

Is it possible to download this and run it in situ?

get it from there and unzip. it will help you create a usb you can boot to and test RAM with.

Choose whether to restart the computer and run the tool immediately or schedule the tool to run at the next restart.

well that ram doesnt seems to be bad, 7.5GB for single channel 1333mhz is about ok

sata/ide drivers seems to be bad
can u try to reinstall chipset drivers?

turn off bitdefender and see if it snaps into shape

well, hardware issues it looks like to me. 8 yrs old and it's ready to be replaced. good luck. I don't think drivers are your issue. 8 yrs is all i tend to be able to get out of computers.
