I have a asus z370 e gaming motherboard, gtx 1080 ti and asus vg248qe 144Hz monitor. I got a dvi cable with the monitor. So I'm not able to understand which cable to use for what? Should I use the dvi cable for gpu to monitor or motherboard to monitor? And should I get a new hdmi cable for motherboard to monitor in case I connect it to gpu to monitor. Pls suggest and thank you a lot.

Solution
This monitor requires DVI dual link or Displayport to display 144Hz. Hdmi isn't allowed. Use the DVI cable or Displayport, preferably Displayport. Both DVI and Displayport should be included?

Says both are included here.

If no Displayport cable, use the provided DVI cable.

----

Connect video cable direct to 1080ti for best performance. Don't want sub par integrated graphics performance from the motherboard.
