can't enter password or power down on startup

My NuVision laptop won't accept password n startup. Power down button doesn't work.

Can you please elaborate the issue a bit more? For instance, what was the last thing you did after which the issue occurred, what troubleshooting steps have you taken thus far, did you try to boot in Safe Mode, etc.?
