what is best to buy in Germany?

I have a good friend who is going to have a trip to Germany.
I've never been to Germany and I can't suddenly think of anything
he can bring back for me.
What is the best thing to buy or the least expensive to buy in Germany?
Any ideas??

I had a friend bring me home (US) real absinthe which was really good however importing alcohol nowadays may be different from when we did it which was about 10 years ago. There's probably a lot of souvenirs over there, just tell them a price and have them surprise you!

otherwise than alcohol, any ideas? I don't normally drink too much alcohol

Well I've never been there so items that are over there compared to what I have here is little knowledge to me which is why I suggested having your friend surprise your with a souvenir(s).

You do realize Tom's Hardware is a tech forum, right?

So, are we talking about a piece of tech or hardware, e.g. a Gerber hunting knife or a pair of Sennheiser headphones from the respective factory outlets? (Not exactly cheap souvenirs, but not horribly expensive either.)

Or do you prefer something edible, e.g. some regional sausage speciality? (Probably the least expensive souvenir.)

Or would you be comfortable with a pair of genuine Lederhosen from Bavaria? (Probably the most expensive souvenir.)
