Cant listen to audio files

Ok so somehow I deleted some of my favorite songs and I had to use a program to recover the audio files. I recovered the files but now I cant listen to any of then at all. Are the audio files corrupted or something? What is my next step?

If they can't play then they have been corrupted. An undelete program can only do so much.

Keep important files backed up on, for example, external HDD in future.
