Configuration registry is corrupt

Hey all! I didn't think I'd have to post on any forums to solve my issue but this is my last resort, please bear with me on this. A week ago, I was playing games regularly and decided to update my drivers for my GTX 1050. The update failed, however, and I uninstalled my current drivers to see if that'd work, and attempted again. It didn't work, and I found the issue to be the device manager not showing the Microsoft basic adapter that it usually should, instead showing 3 'unknown devices'. Upon trying to install the drivers through the internet on the device manager, it shows an error with the message 'The configuration registry is corrupt.' Searching it up, I found that I should be using windows update to check for any updates, and it shows many different updates, which I will link below.
When I restart my PC it says the updates failed and it is going to undo all changes, and it boots again normally.
Now I am at a complete loss. I've tried downloading the windows update troubleshooter and using it, which it SAYS fixes a corrupt registry or something about that but when retrying to download updates it doesn't work. I've also tried resetting my pc, which for some odd reason at 50% complete it resets and undos all changes, and I've tried scanning my PC using SFC in command prompt and full scanning on windows defender, to no avail. And now I'm here, asking for any help that could somehow miraculously save my computer. All and any questions regarding this will be answered to the best of my ability, and I hope to fix this. Thank you all in advance!

Son, although it reminds me of my own pain, I gotta say it: no one can fix a registry mess.

You present a lesson for us all:

Always have a recent clone/image to help deal with stuff like a completely utterly hosed system.

Question : How did the updates get orphaned like that ?

Answer: Back up whatever you can and reinstall windows.
