Hi there!

My current monitor is this:
https://www.amazon.com/Acer-R271-bid-27-inch-Display/dp/B01DM2D8TW?psc=1&SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-iphone-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B01DM2D8TW&th=1

I’m looking for a relatively cheap 1440p IPS monitor to pair with my GTX 1080. Here are my preferences:

1440p
25-27”
IPS
< 5ms response time
Black (NO red or jet fighter gamery design)
144hz and/or G-Sync would be nice, but I don’t want to pay a huge premium for either

Basically, I would like to get something similar to my current monitor, but with a higher resolution (and refresh rate if the price isn’t too crazy vs. a 60hz one)

Thanks!

Good monitor, though not that amazing looking aesthetically.

I found little to no options otherwise when it comes to a 1440p@144Hz monitor that doesn't look like a gaming-design.

My personal recommendation for that kind of money is a G-Sync monitor instead.

While IPS looks great and all, a quality TN/VA panel doesn't look like garbage.

I have a Dell S2716DG and the panel looks fine to me. Colors are pretty darn fantastic and I can adjust my position by quite a bit before the screen takes a turn, but the amount I have to move out of the way to make that happen is unrealistic and never gonna happen while I'm sitting at my desk playing games and such.

If you have more professional reasons for wanting an IPS display I can uderstand that, but at that point you're looking to pay a premium for a good panel.

If you don't mind using a quality TN/VA though then here is what I would recommend for your 1080.

It's the monitor I have and I love it.
27"/1440p/144Hz/G-Sync

If you want to save $50 then I guess you could get this one instead.

same thing specs wise, but panel is not quite as good. Has a slightly higher refresh rate capability but honestly not really worth it to me since the viewing angels are much tighter and colors are not as good.

Thank you both! I'm probably going to go with that Samsung monitor; it has everything I want for a crazy good price. The main reason I didn't want a VA panel was because of the response time, but this one is only 4ms, so that isn't a problem at all.

The Dell is a close second, but I can't personally justify a $100 premium for G-Sync. Plus, the Samsung is curved :)
