4k 100+hz monitors are very pricey and there aren't many. I just bought a PC capable of playing 4k (2080ti+i7 8700k) is it worth going for a 1440p monitor that's 144hz with gsync or waiting for 4k 100+hz monitors to come down in price due to new models coming out? My current monitor is a 60hz 1080p display so my new rig is waisted on it. I mainly play fps games so id love the higher refresh rate but I also occasionally pick up pretty games like witcher. With a budget of around £500 and that current display what should I do?

You would need 32" to actually enjoy the 4K so something like Acer Predator but that's £700+, there is a good BenQ 32" 4K Freesync monitors for £460, so if you don't need G-Synch I would get that or just get 1440p 144hz because you definitely wasting that RTX2080Ti on current monitor

First off no, 4k is over hyped. If I were you I would head ton 2k/144hz. It's the sweet spot and once you go there you won't come back. Or obviously you could wait and get a 4k monitor but it's overrated. Get a 2k/144hz monitor.

Btw how is it playing on a 1080p/60hz with the RTX and the i7 8700K? Do you have any problems? Does most of the games run at 60fps? Obviously it is not the best but I'm just wondering because I'm buying my brother so let me know as soon as you see this. And good luck.

most games run over 200fps, and with v sync its stuck to the 60.
