What gaming PC do you have right now?

If you are talking about prebuilt gaming PCs, I think you'll find that the vast majority of members and visitors here have custom built their own systems based on their own needs. It is unlikely you will find a great number of members using prebuilt systems as they are a lot less cost effective and generally don't perform nearly as well in the end.

Not talking about pre-builts. I'm part of the custom PC people. Thank you though!

What info are you looking for?

I'm currently using a Dell XPS 8700

  • ■ i5-4460 CPU (original)
    ■ 16 GB DDR3 1600Hz CL9 RAM (replaced earlier 1600Hz CL11 8GB RAM, which was then used elsewhere)
    ■ Nvidia GTX 1080 Founders Edition
    ■ Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SATA SSD
    ■ Crucial MX500 500 GB SATA SSD
    ■ 1 TB HDD (original)
    ■ Acer XR382CQK monitor - 3840 x 1600, FreeSync 48-75Hz

I purchased the monitor months BEFORE the video card. In hindsight, I probably should've gone with a 34 inch 3440x1440 monitor, but at the time I was concerned that the loss of 400 pixels of horizontal resolution might've been problematic for work purposes, and the super-wide 3840x1080 monitors weren't yet available.

If I could get a decent price for the monitor I currently have, I *might* still consider stepping down to 3440x1440... haven't really decided, though (38" is probably going to be hard to give up, lol)

Budget Build (WIP)

-G5400 (Placeholder for 9600K)
-Cryrig M9i
-Gigabyte Z370 SLIXP
-Kingston FURY 2x4gb @2666
-Samsung 860 EVO 500gb
-EVGA GTX 750 ti FTW 2gb
-NZXT H500 (getting Friday), using old Antec case now.
-Corsair CXM 550W
-Hanspree 20" 1600x900/60hz

The system games quite well at 1600x900, most MMO's are on med to high settings and run at a consistent 60 FPS. Toughest game I have to run is the Division however graphic tweaks between Low & Med keep it at 55+ FPS.

Future Upgrades...

-G5400 to i5-9600K
-750 ti to AMD Navi (maybe, depends on release) Another option is buying my old R9 290 4gb off a friend of mine with trade of the 750 ti as he games much less then I do.
-1600x900 to 34" 2560x1080P/75hz/IPS, had the 29" version of this previously and loved it, will probably get Freesync version if I get AMD GPU.

If I have time I'll post my UserBenchmark scores if you'd like.

Expected build by this weekend.

Gone through many iterations - started out with a 4690K, Z97-A and an R9 280 inside a Define R5
Then dropped the 4690K in a Z97i-Plus mITX inside the EnthooEvolvITX with a 3GB 1060
Then found a steal on the 4790K
Then I picked up the 980TI ($330 CAD during the height of the mining craze). Too little ventilation in the EvolvITX to keep it cool so I switched boards from another system, and picked up the Meshify-C.

At this point, only the 850 EVO, RAM and NH-D15 is 'original'. The RAM and 850 EVO actually came from my build prior.

This ' came together ' over a while, evolving, improving...Growing.
A once quiet, simple thing sitting on my floor merely browsing the Internet and happily, innocently, chasing games for the pure joy of life has now turned into a fearsome, frightening predator.
Tearing games asunder, vanquishing renders and multi tasking with terrifying brutality, a dark, brooding menace to all software it even now demands I add a tempered glass panel so all may see its majesty and a water block to the GPU that it may stalk its prey with greater stealth.
I hear your call, my master.
I obey ;)

Ignore the pricing, I haven't put the prices I paid so it's not indicative of that and of course I would pick different parts based on current prices and some parts I'm using because they are leftover from a cyrptocurrency mining operation I had going. This is basically a build drawn out over 2 years. I'm always adding to it and switching parts. And the Cryorig R1 Universal I am not happy with (too loud). I will be switching back to my Noctua NH-D15S soon.
