Hi guys.
I am building my gaming PC for the very first time and after a lot of research I have created a build
and I am about to buy it.
my budget is about 1500$ and what I am planning to buy is:

CPU : intel core i5 - 8500 3.0Ghz 9MB cache s1151v2 - tray.
CPU cooler : Arctic freezer 33 penta (120 mm)
MotherBoard : Asus Prime Z370 - P LGA115V2, intel Z370, DDR4, 2xPCI-E, DVI, HDMI.
RAM memory : G.Skill Ripjaws-V 2x8GB DDR4 3000Mhz CL15 kit.
Video card : Asus GTX 1060 Expedition 6GB OC GDDR5 DVI, 2xHDMI, 2xDP, PCI-E.
Hard disk : Western Digital Caviar blue 1TB, SATA III, WD10EZEX.
SSD : Samsung 860 EVO M.2 MZ-N6E500BW, 500GB.
PSU : SeaSonic SSP-550RT, 550W Gold active, PFC 12 CM Fan.
Case : Corsair SPEC-03 Blue LED Mid-Tower Gaming Case no PSU

Any suggestions to add / replace would be great and any review of the pc will be great.
Thanks!

Hi zivzz1212,

For 1500$, you can have better performance for sure.
Do you want to stick with intel? Are you open to AMD?

In this current build, you are wasting money for no performance gain.
1°/ You buy a CPU cooler for a locked processor which comes with a cooler (no the best but sufficient)
2°/ You take a Z370 (overclocking motherboard) for a locked processor. No need this budget here. You can go with a B ou H chipset.

As I said, for 1500$ you can have better performance.
In fact, I recommend at least 8 thread processor from my experience like the 7700(k) (dead plateform but still great), 8700(k), 9700(k), 9900(k), 2500X, 2700X etc etc.

Hi Rodolphe.

I'd like to stick with intel processors.
I have thought about it and after some research I found out that having an 8 thread processor for a gaming PC is kind of useless to have.
I want to hear your opinion on that matter tho.
As for the motherboard, I didnt really think about overclocking but I thought that for the 8th gen intel processors you must have the Z series motehr board.
If i change my processor to the i5 - 8600k 3.6Ghz Tray to use its overclocking abilities (without buying the fan like you suggested) won't I need an extra cooling device? (such as a fan or a water cooler) becuase I will overclock in that case.
Thanks.

About the _ threads, look at how BF1 hammers even the I5 8600k (i have it and i can prove it). 6 cores/threads is not enought nowadays...
With every k intel processor, you have to buy a cooler, there's none in the box.

If you wnat to go with intel, wait for the 9th series, you'll have better thermals cause they came back to a solder between the die and IHS instead of sh**** thermal paste.

So do you have an I7 processor that you recommend ? ( that is on par pricewise with the original processor that I planned on buying ? and a motherboard to pair it with will be nice of you please)

Thanks!
