So I'm trying to boot on an older mobo (760GMA-P34(FX)) and I try to install windows with a usb booter. It gives me a bunch of problems, so I install windows to the drive using another computer, no problem. I plug the HDD with the fresh install of windows into the P34 and attempt to boot. All I get is a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left. In the BIOS, the SATA controller is set to configure drives in AHCI. However, when I view the connected drives, the P34 detects the drive as an IDE drive. How strange. The drive is a WD caviar SE 7200 rpm SATA interface drive. I've bee troubleshooting for a total of ten hours with no luck, any suggestions?
