Fully clean drive option in windows reset

It's been over 15 hours and it's still at 50%, the process is very slow.. I wanted to do a full format to give it to someone and i clicked the "Fully clean the drive" it only had a few files and 1tb that is barely used. Can I somehow cancel this?

Best to let it go. A full clean does a few pass of wipes. 15 hours seems like a long time to me though for a 1TB drive to be at 50%.

What happens if I turn off the pc?

from another pc make a windows 10 boot usb stick. using windows media creation tool. boot from that and go to dos settings of the installers run diskpart clean to clean all the data off your hard drive. to help your friend give him or her the windows usb stick boot off of the stick where the pc going to live. if they dont have a windows key you can click skip on the windows installer. your friend can run windows 10 un activated till he gets his own key.
