DirecTV Genie Mini

I currently have DirecTV with an HR54/500 Genie. I am looking to add mini clients to other rooms in my house. I only use ethernet for my VOD. My question is will the clients use the genie ethernet connection or can I put ethernet to them, or are they wireless? I have problems with DirecTV and Wi-Fi.

I plan to use the wired minis as I don't want to pay extra for the wireless setup hardware.

The networking between the host and the clients in out office is done via COAX using SWM.
