How to change which gpu is used

When i go in the display adapters settings in device manager, there is the 'microsoft display adapter' and 'nvidea geforce GT 1030'. When i go in games i found out that they lag as hell, and they i found out that my pc uses the basic display adapter. How do i change it to the Nvidea gt 1030 one? This all happend after my whole pc was reset by the repair.

Download the latest drivers for your GT 1030. Go to Nvidia Control Panel > 3D settings > Global Settings > Use high-power Nvidia GPU

It says that 'nvidea display settings are not available, you are not currently using a display attached to an nvidea gpu'. Please help

Did you connect the HDMI/VGA/DISPLAYPORT/DVI cable to the motherboard's or the GPU's port?
