looking at buying a new monitor and need some advice

Hi, i'm looking at getting a new monitor mostly for gaming, at the moment im using an ancient LG monitor and a AOC standard 60Htz monitor.
I notice that with these 2 monitors i get a lot of screen tear and it feels overall laggy.

I've had a look on amazon but don't know exactly what will be best for me.
My question is will i be better off getting a 4k Monitor or a 144htz monitor with a 1ms refresh rate?
i have an RX 480 that says its 4K ready but im not sure how true that is performance wise.
if anyone can link me to the best ones out there for around £100 - £200 That would be great
Or even any advice you can give me!

I won't link any for you but you should be looking for 1080p with Freesync. You absolutely cannot play games @ 4k with that card.
