Hi, hope someone can help. I'd selected a list of components to build a pc but now i've gone to buy it the motherboard has come in to queston . It has a lot of reviews saying the bios are out dated and it wont work with ryzen 5 2600, unless you boot it with a 1600 then update bios. To be honest this all means nothing to me, the motherboard is here

The next model up ,the 370, has similar issues i've read so not sure thats an option . I'll put links for the other parts in . Was looking to spend about 100 on mboard but could spend a little more . The pc is for my son, building it for him for xmas, mostly for gaming.

IF you plan to get the Ryzen 5 2600 you should Really look at getting the 400 series boards instead of the 300.. they offer more features and are overall better and normally NOT much more.. Get an B450 now instead of the older B350 (I personally like Asus and ASRock boards and had very good luck with both though normally I go with ASRock boards)

Edit: the Ryzen CPUs really like to have 3000+ ram.. yes more expensive but much better if you plan to game. so I would suggest you get better ram.
I would get the ASRock B450 PRO4 OR ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F OR ASRock Fatal1ty B450 GAMING K4 for the B450 boards.. IF you can swing it.. the X470 are better but more expensive..
for the X470 boards I would go with one of these: ASUS ROG Strix X470-F or ASUS Prime X470-Pro or ASRock X470 Master SLI/AC OR the ASRock X470 Taichi (this is the one I have but its a bit up there for sure)

Ok man, thanks. Sounds like you know what you're talking about . would these boards be ok

And they'd both work with ryzen 5 2600?

When you said 3000+ ram my first thought was 3000 GB??? then realised what you meant lol, thats how useless I am when it comes to technical info
