Windows could not automatically detect this network's proxy settings

I have tried all the methods that I could find regarding this issue. Nothing works.

I cannot check on "automatically detect settings because it refused to save the option.

I checked "automatically detect setting" I clicked save, I went back, and it got unchecked.

I tried to reset my pc but it said "there was a problem resetting your pc, no changes were made".

My internet connection is wired, but my wifi is facing the same problem.

My network status is blank with ___....___ sign.

I have no internet on my desktop, no internet icon.

All my other computers are having internet just fine.

I had updated all the drivers I could possibly find on device manager and window update.

Hi there!

Having a bit of an argument with your network card? Windows contains multiple places were network settings can be configured which can be a pain in the backside to say the least... Are you familiar with the Command Prompt? It's no problem if you arent, but it can be handy for providing a quick diagnostic of what your network cards status is.

Firstly Press and hold down the Windows Key and press the R button.
In the empty box where it says run, type in CMD.

A black Window should open on your screen.

Inside that Window type IPConfig /all

That should fill the screen with some text that describes the status of your network connection. It will look like this; -

Copy and paste the text you get into this thread (I know you cant connect to the internet with the affected machine, but you can paste the text into a text file and save it to a USB drive for pasting on a different computer alternatively you can create a text file by typing ipconfig /all > Networkstuff.txt then copy the text file)

Of the four Network devices listed This one looks like it is the one you are connecting to your network since the others all indicate that they have no media connected (they are missing an ethernet cable for example.)

What I find interesting about this is that it has the standard configuration for an un-configured card. I can also see that DHCP is disabled too. Unless you manually provide it with an address configuration for your home network it wont connect to anything on it. The connection is also NOT reporting that the Media is missing which along with its name suggests to me that this is an un-configured wired connection.

Lets try and see if we can get this card to pick up an address...

Click on the Start Button Then click on the Setttings Icon.
In the search box type in Control Panel.
Now Click on the presented search result.
Within the Control Panel window browse to the Network and Sharing Centre icon And Click On the link Change Adapter Settings.
Double Click on the icon that represents the network adapter you are using to connect to your network.
Select Properties in the Ethernet Status Window
In the Ethernet Properties Window Scroll down and click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and select properties
Ensure that both the options to Obtain an IP Address automatically are selected.

Click OK, Then OK and you can also close the properties box too but leaving it open can help with further troubleshooting.

Once complete go back to the command prompt and type in the following commands; -

Ipconfig /release
Ipconfig /renew
Ipconfig /all

Ok, Ipconfig /release instructs the computer to drop its current automatic address configuration. Ipconfig /renew instructs the computer to try and acquire an address automatically.

Hi, I finally found the solution. Apparently I did something that turned almost all of my window services off. So I have to manually turns it on one by one. DHCP service is definitely one of the service that I needs to turn on.
After that, I finally able to reset my computer to fix my sound problem.
